Yeah, the eyeball instructions do say they can be drilled out. However, the Vans cables are so large that there would be nothing left of the little sleeve that holds the cable in place.

I submitted a question to Aircraft Spruce yesterday and figured they had blown me off. However, they replied just now saying the diameter is 1/4". That's the same as the knob control cables, which will work perfect for me.

Also, the price difference isn't much between Vans and Spruce. Vans is about $10 cheaper.
