Hello all,
Does any body know the width of an RV-7 fuselage? Tony Partain will be delivering mine, along with the QB wings January 16th. I'm trying see how big a opening I need in my fence, so I can make a gate. I have a walk thru now, but it is only 44in. wide. Thanks

Another question is how high your fence is.
The fuselage "canoe" by itself weighs practically nothing and two people can easily hoist it over their heads to clear the top of a typical fence.

The fuse is about 43.5" if I recall so you're pretty close if you choose not to go vertical. But it's so light vertical would be just as easy!

The wings are about 9' x 4' (rough dimensions).

The canoe is not that light

I wouldn't DREAM of lifting the fuselage over a 6' fence without a lot of burly friends. When Partain delivered mine, it took four of us to comfortably carry it just clear of the ground. Two at the wing spars and two at the tailcone.

There is no way we could have safely lifted it over a 6' fence.

I strongly urge you to build a gate, or call every burly friend you have.

Well then, this might be a fun "accuracy challenge". I wonder if anyone has a scale handy and wants to weigh their empty QB7 canoe?

I'd guess maybe 90 pounds, and I'm probably guessing on the heavy side.
