I bought the RV-7A QB kit to build my plane. The ailerons and flaps are finished as part of the kit.

I'm trying to resolve a heavy wing issue. I checked the aileron bottoms looking for a mostly flat surface to align with the bottom of the wings. When the ailerons are aligned using the template and tooling holes, the leading edge (and only the leading edge) of the ailerons droops down about 1/4" below the bottom of the wing.

It's like the leading edge pipe was pop-riveted on slightly out of position. Has anyone else noticed this? What did you do to correct it?

I tried to raise the aileron up just 1/16" on the hinges and it changed a minor annoyance of a heavy wing into a major heavy wing on the same side that took constant, significant pressure to counteract.

Thanks for your help.

I aligned the control surfaces using the airfoil template, rather than the flat bottom surfaces. The tip and all the surfaces should be lined up that way.
