hi all,

just purchased a nice rv-4. it came with a sensenich 30cm7s16-0-78 metal prop. it doesn't seem like it's the right prop.

i've had an rv-4 before but was using a catto prop. seemed the proformance was better then the metal one. has any one used the sensenich prop on a rv-4 with 150hp?

thanks

Been there, sold that...

Hi Dan,

I bolted a Sensenich Metal (77 pitch) prop on my 150HP RV4 back in 99' and flew it 3 hours, removed and promptly sold it. Three things I didn't like: 2600 max RPM restriction, poor takeoff and inflight performance which included harmonic vibrations, heavier weight and flywheel effect. The deal breaker is it's non aerobatic. There are people out there though who fly straight and level all the time off long, paved runways and may like the prop. :)
Craig Catto's prop was the best for my 150HP ND 0-320, as was Margie Warnke's and Ed Sterba's previously. I sold the Bandit with a new MT fixed Pitch prop for the new 170HP 0-320. You might also take a look at Paul Lipps Elippse propeller.
