I am getting ready to install my prop on the RV8 with 0-360 Lycoming engine. The engine is on number 1 cylinder at top dead center. Which position should the prop be in at this location? Thanks, Tom

Viewed from the front, most people set things up so the prop stops (i.e. begins the compression stroke) at about 10 O'Clock/4 O'Clock. This makes for a good starting point if you need to hand prop.

If you base things on TDC, you're probably looking at 9:00/3:00 or possibly 8:00/2:00.
