There have been several discussions prop levers moving forward when the throttle friction is loosened. Some have had luck with the longer Hartzell control arm. I have an MT governor and received no reply when contacting them. Everyone’s good buddy, Squaz, suggested a spring on the prop lever going back to the bulkhead. The angle bracket attached nicely to an existing bolt with a nutplate behind it. Works like a champ! (Turns out I didn’t need to remove the top panel on the throttle quadrant.)

I have an RV-6 with a centre quadrant that suffered from the same problem. My solution is to use push-pull/vernier controls for prop and mixture. Overall I think it is a better solution, particularly when flying in formation.

It came from Lowe's (Aviation isle) It's on the bag in the second pic. 2 3/8" long. Shortest bracket you can find. I cut the spring down just a bit. If needed, I can put another hole closer to the bulkhead or drill a hole higher on the prop lever. Working great for now.

I finally got around to adding this spring to my quadrant; it works! No more prop lever creeping forward, yay! It's such a simple mod, but duh, not something I'd have thought of...
