I'm about to install the baffle on the left fuel tank of my RV-6. I could use some suggestions and 'war stories' about ensuring that I have a leak-free baffle. If it matters any, I've installed a flop tube for fuel and a capacitance fuel quantity system.

Any thoughts on where and how to apply the pro-seal, and where you folks have encountered the most problems? Where have you experienced leaks around the baffle?

FYI, I've also posted this on the Matronics RV list, no need to post it twice :)

John,

I will echo what Dave said. Put a bead of sealant on the rivet line on the tank skin and also put a thin layer on the baffle flange. When you put the baffle in place, the sealant on the baffle will stick nicely to the seralant on the skin. Make sure to put enough sealant in the corners of the end ribs as there is a little gap there that needs to be filled. You shouldn't have any problems.
