Honestly not trying to start a primer war here... just wondering... does anybody prime over the manufactured heads of rivets after setting them, for main structural things like wing ribs to spars? I was thinking that the stress imposed on the rivet head and the surrounding material by the hammering action of hte rivet set might make these areas prone to corrosion. Plus the microscopic gap left between the set rivet head and the material under it, might collect moisture? Just wondering if a thin line of primer over the manufactured heads of structural rivets after setting might be a good idea... thoughts?

It could'nt hurt. That practice is even mentioned in the Mil Spec MIL-R-47196A "RIVETS, BUCK TYPE, PREPARATION FOR AND INSTALLATION OF" section 3.6 Necessary? Probaly not, but its your plane, do what make you feel good, and the environment your plane will live in.
