Have you folks heard of anyway that I can activate a preheat device in my hangar 10 miles away. The hangar has cell phone coverage, but no wifi. What I would like to do is activate it a couple hours before heading out using my cell phone.

There is a guy in my EAA chapter that developed his own line of "magic boxes" that can operate off of a land line or a track phone (cell tower service). Several guys in the chapter were used as a test bed and all of them that I talked to said it worked well. I can't speak from personal experience because I do not have one, but if I needed such a device, I would get this.
