While waiting for my QB kits to arrive, I thought I'd get in some practice with fiberglass fabrication, based on my training experience with Synergy Air. I built two projects; both involved joining plexiglass to aluminum. One was simple flat planes joined at a 60 degree angle and the other involved curving both the aluminum cowling and plexiglass windscreen. Like most fiberglass work, I could have spent months perfecting these pieces, but since they're training projects I wasn't worried about perfection. I learned some lessons (especially in proper masking techniques) and wrapped them up. Thought I'd share some photos. The cowling includes a seat for Amy's mascot... Douglas Bear-der.
