Several years ago for reasons I don't recall, I decided to go with the standard battery mounted on the left side of the firewall. I also installed the oil cooler on the left side of the baffle. Now that I have it all assembled, it appears that the hot air coming from the oil cooler will pass directly over the battery and relays. I am considering making a shield from scrap aluminum and attaching it to the engine mount in an effort to deflect the air as it comes from the cooler.

For those that have been down this road, is this even a problem? If so, what did you do to correct it?

Thanks in advance,

I have the exact set up you are discribing. I did nothing to keep heat off of the battery. Been flying my 7a for 3 years now with no battery problem whatsoever
