As I understand it, PMags are a “wasted spark” ignition system with (Lycoming) cylinders 1&2 firing together then cylinders 3&4 firing together. Therefore (my question) does it truly not matter where the 1&2 plug wires are connected to the coil post and 3&4 are connected to the coil post as long as they’re connected to the appropriate side?
Page 8 of the manual says “1: It does not matter which cylinder is connected to which post within a given pair.”
This just seems strange to me.
