After reading John's post I looked for Plexiglass drills-- Avery has #27 and #40 drills but where did anyone find a #30/

OR you can take a Dremel with a cut-off wheel and make the cutting edge parallel to the bit's length. Just knock off the angle of the sharp edge that tries to pull the bit into the material. Mark it for plastic only as it won't cut metal after that. Test it on scrap to make sure it is dull enough!

I'm a bit confused by this thread and others that recommend various drills for the canopy. The Avery RV-12 kit contains a 27 and a 40 "plastic" drill. Is there a reason not to use these, and look for something else? I am approaching the canopy work with some trepidation after reading so many posts on the subject. Like the canopy is some kind of bomb just waiting for detonation. I'm almost afraid to touch it! I may need therapy after this task.
