I'm building a 7 in a ridiculously small space in my garden in London, UK. I'll be final assembling the aircraft at a pal's hangar and airfield about 100 miles away so need to get as much completed at home as possible. I remember seeing a dummy plastic Lycoming advertised but can't now find it. Being able to fit the cowling and all firewall forward gear using a light plastic dummy engine might be a real help. Anyone seen it? Also, if anyone has built an RV in a small garden shed, have they any construction tips to offer. Daft question, but you never know. Thanks in anticipation.

point your browser to...

Precision Airmotive, and then look for the mock up engine link.

I think the price is under $1,000 US.

Colin,

Be careful, if you use the plastic engine as a template, then you may find that when you hang the real engine, because of the extra weight the cowling will not line up.

Give my regards to James.

I bought a Red Taged, non-repariable engine case and crank for $155 US, each . I found them at a used engine parts place.
I use it to fit cowls. Works great.
Not sure how send it to the UK. I have two, a 0-360 and a 0-320.

Maby you can find one there?
