For wiring the plasma II ingition module to a keyswitch, you have to make up the output ignition connector. The diagram shows running the shielded wire to pins 1 and 9. The center conductor then goes to terminal R of the keyswitch, and the sheild goes to terminal GR of the keyswitch (the ground terminal). But NOTE 3 on the plasma diagram points to the shield and says "DO NOT CONNECT TO AIRCRAFT GROUND". But shouldn't terminal GR of the keyswitch itself be connected to aircraft ground??

Anybody??
I'm really not sure how to wire my keyswitch, lightspeed and mags.
The keyswitch instructions say to connect the GND terminal to the aircraft ground.
But the Lightspeed manual says to connect the shielding of the wire from the output connector to the the keyswitch terminal GR. It also says not to connect the shielding to the aircraft ground.
Huh?
Where am i supposed to ground the sheilding for this wire from my lightspeed?

I had the same question. Believe it or not, the shield from the left mag
p-lead goes to the ground terminal on the keyswitch as does the the shield of
the plasma II. The left p-lead shield is also grounded at the mag. I thought
the whole thing was kinda of weird but that is what it says. I tried it
both with the keyswitch grounded from the ground terminal to the airframe
(the way I had it originally with two mags) and without the switch grounded.
I noticed no difference in noise, so I left the keyswitch ground wire connected
to the airframe. I also have the mag p lead shield grounded at both ends. My thought
was why rely on that p-lead shield of the left mag shaking away on the
engine to ground out the mag and Plasma II. May the electric gods strike me down!

There are many threads on this subject if you do a search. I'm sure you will
get many other opinions.
