Many people will swear up and down of some perceived advantage of using aluminum in the wings -- that's what Van's calls out in the plans. Many spam cans have plastic tubing. IMHO it's completely up to you. It just needs to not leak. I have a continuous run from the pitot to the panel. If I need to pull the wing off I'll cut the line at that time.
