My pitot tube in my RV-6 is soft aluminum. However, I need to mate this line to nylon-type fittings in some new instruments. Is there a recommended way to do this?

I used a plumbing fitting availabe at most hardware stores. It's used to connect plastic water lines like for a fridge with an ice maker. They're just a plastic version of an AN fitting. They are designed to hold high water pressure so they will work fine in a low pressure(static) enviroment. Go the the link below and you can see what I used. Mine I got at the home Depot's Aviation Dept.

Slip a short length of 1/4" i.d. vinyl tube over the aluminum and poly tube ends. Add spring clamps as req'd.
1/4" i.d. fuel hose works too.
