My RV-10 is almost ready to fly (expecting to fly about November 7th). I am expecting the DAR to impose 40 hours of Phase I with all the normal restrictions (VFR, Day, required crew only, 75nm radius). I managed to get a very coveted spot at one of the top paint shops around but it is going to mean flying it to the shop before I will have the 40 hours flown off.
Does anyone know how hard it is to get a ferry permit to fly the airplane outside of 75miles before it is out of Phase I? Does the FSMO push back or is this mostly a paperwork drill?
