I just found this on Amazon. Looks like it could be easily and safely mounted, would perhaps make a great canopy breaker, includes a saw in the handle and a flint. For $25 it's worth a look.

Mag Lite

I have a 3 cell mag-lite with a hardened glass breaker end cap. I hope to never found out if it works.
