I was just looking at my PCU governor and noticed that the arm isn't springing to the high RPM stop... I was told that it should be doing that if the cable breaks etc.. Mine isn't even close to springing forward when the arm is half-way between stops..

I made a little video that shows the behavior.. but I don't know if this is how it's supposed to be or not..

PS.. The cause seems to be that the coil spring is binding on the housing and that's why the arm isn't springing forward... again.. not sure if this is "normal" or not..

PPS... this is a brand new never installed unit from that group buy..

I think when you call them, you'll get some kind of answer like there is much less resistance to the spring return when there is oil pressure and the unit is operating on the engine. I seem to remember having this same conversation with American Propeller some time ago. You should call them and report back.

They got back to me and said this is OK and it'll get better after it's run some... we'll see..
