I bought a pack of 50 K1000-08 plate nuts last year for .41/ea...now Aircraft Spruce's price for a pack of 50 is 1.71/ea, an increase of 317%...anyone else notice these increases? If you need these plate nuts, surprisingly, they're cheaper at Vans (currently $0.54/ea). Git em while you can. They will be going up, I'm sure.

To be fair to Spruce, Wicks price is $2.28 each...

That's what they said about Van's kits a few years ago.... I hope Van's is not paying 85 cents and selling for 54 cents...

Inflation is real and painful, I buy things from Amazon and has a good order history. It is painful to see what the same item was just six months earlier.

I don't know where the plate nuts are manufactured, (U.S. I hope and assume), but most things on Amazon are probably made overseas and the impact of tariffs and higher transportation costs has definitely driven up prices...just basic econ 101. About the only thing you can do is find an alternative (rivnuts?) or simply not buy and let the market work its will

I was looking at ms22759/16-12 wire the other day. 3.95/ft at spruce and .74/ft at wiremasters. I get some variance due to volume but that seams excessive.

I ordered a dozen cherry rivets for an SB at about a buck each from ACS. After charging my card, they sent an email saying the new price would be 4 bucks each, and did I still want them, lol.

They "bait and switched" you?
I guess, lol. They're actually pretty good to deal with. They claimed the supplier upped the price. Vans had them for a buck or so, so I just bought them from Vans, but the shipping was more, so it was probably a wash for a 12 dollar order. It just kinda irritated me. But now, Vans has increased their price to 4.25 as well. What I don't get is that just one size larger AND smaller are still about a dollar each. This must really be an "in-demand" size. If you want to really cringe, look at drill bit prices... #40, 6", 135 degree split points that I used to pay about a buck a piece for, run over 5 bucks each now. Ran across someone this morning that had tubes of them for 7$ per dozen and bought all he had.

Yes! I just ordered my usual lot of bits, 10 of this, 20 of that, etc. a BIG ouch!
I might have to find that old bit sharpener I used to constantly swear at.

Yeah, I might have to invest in one for the shop, but 1300$ will buy a lot of bits..... Managed to scarf up 4 packages of cobalt #40 jobber length as well, for 10$ each, this morning. It pays to spend a little time hunting around when you need to buy in some bulk.

Aviation is considered a “captive market”, spruce sees what the other private equities are doing and they are capitalizing as well
