Years ago when I built my 8 I wanted to paint the panel …. Problem was the 2 side panels are riveted in place and not removable.
I bent some Overlay Panels out of some .020 aluminum and painted those with the center instrument panel . I made an extra set for a future panel color / design change .
Simple way to eliminate painting inside the fuselage.

I did the same thing with an extra set of vans mini panels. I closed up the pre punched rivet holes not used with bondo.
