I like simple. I would switch the locations of the D180 and 496. To put your primary instrument in front of you.

Thanks Hydroguy2 for fixing the photo thingy.
The thought process for the d180 location was,"to not create one more job of cutting out the panel reinforcement ". As a benefit to where it is ( pure luck not planned ) the airspeed is almost directly in front.
Thanks again john

What did you use to do the lettering on the instrument panel?

panel lettering

Ken: Went to an engraving shop. They engraved the letters into black plastic strip that has white substrate, and has adhesive backing for easy mounting. Two strips took care of the switch row and then some individual labels for the other items like throttle, mixture, etc.
Not expensive, approx $65 for all the labels. I looked at doing labels with a label maker from Office Depot but decided these would be more durable in the long run.
Thanks john
