Hello everyone,
A few months out from paint ( RV-14 ) has me seeking to line up a paint shop.
One shop that has a good rep request that I disassemble / re-assemble the aircraft. This makes perfect sense to me, now, after the shop request.
So, as the thread title reads.....insert your response as I feel like a duck swimming in mud.
Should I fly it to a 'Vans' experience shop?
Take the time, spend the effort to d/ r ?

Schedule early, most good shops are booked several months out.
I have had numerous airplanes painted and am quite farmilar with the process.
I used a shop in the north east with great results.

Do You have any recommendations. I went to Deland and talked to Eastern for my -10. They quoted 15K . They seemed disinterested about getting the job. So they got the big X from me.
