This is bad - I can't remember what I did on the other wing
On Drawing 11 where the outer aileron hing (W-914) attaches, the plans say:

Rivet in assembly with W-912-R/L, flush head on rear side of W-907-E, underneath W-914.

For those 3 rivets, should I machine countersink the rear spar and dimple W-907-E or machine countersink W-907-E? I'm thinking machine countersink W-907-E... looks too heavy to dimple.

Thanks,

Tom

W907E

I'm no expert, but my thought is that the W907E is riveted to the spar, so I think of it as one piece. Even on its own the W907 E is .040 thick, which makes it a candidate for a machine countersink instead of a dimple. So I'm going with the machine countersink.

Ultimately, it should look something like this:

The 3 rivets you are doing for the W-912 rib to W-907 spar need to be flush on the aft side for the W-914 bracket assembly to lay flat (see DWG 13 for an exploded view of the W-914).

I would countersink the rear spar as long as it is thick enough. There will be a lot more strength added in that corner when the bracket gets added.
