I saw some Op Limitations recently that listed "no aerobatics" as one of the limitations for that (RV, aerobatic capable) plane. Is that standard language from the FAA? Would it have to be removed if that plane was going to be used for aerobatics? How would he have that removed?
 
Take a look at "9" in the "Operating Limitations" for the aircraft. I tells what has to be done for aerobatic operation. If that statement is not in the aircraft logbook, you must put the aircraft back into phase 1 testing, do the maneuvers you wish to have approved, log same and return the aircraft to phase 2.
 
Jim is probably missing the fact that older Op Lims may have prohibited aerobatics completely. If this is the case, contact your local FSDO to have them issue you a new set of op lims that include the language necessary for aerobatics.
