I'm rebuilding my left aileron on the Rocket and I was told the -8 assembly works fine (including the rib spacing) as long as you substitute the old style -4 (solid) spar for the current -8 unit. The trouble with the -8 spar is the lightening holes and the fact that you can't just hack off one end to shorten it to the Rocket specs.

Tried to order the -4 spar today and Van's comes up with a -8 part number as the current piece. Does anyone know if the solid, -4 spar is still available?

Anyone have the old PN handy?

Nevermind. Vans tells me the old spar is out of production and the last of the stock was sold earlier this year.

Looks like the future Rocket builders will have to come up with a locally manufactured part.

I think you can get that part unpunched. Takes time but they will do it for you.
