I have a new Reiff oil sump heater and an AntiSplat heater. I want to put one on my IO-360-M1B and one on my IO-540 with cold air sump.

Two questions:
- Thoughts on which heater for each engine?
- How to place the Reiff Heater, or what sump hole to install the AntiSplat heater.

I just installed ASA units on a 320 and a 540.
I used the furthest aft port (both are tail draggers ) and opposite side from my quick drain. The insulation in the wire looks robust but I made a heat shield since the exhaust is close by on both installations.
I’m impressed by the simplicity. Allan makes great stuff !
Edit: Both my sumps are standard.

ASA heater, forward plug opposite side of drain, on my 540. Muy bueno through two winters.
