Looking to replace my leaking Curtis quick drain.....thinking the P5000.
The website lists is as stainless and aluminum. Is the threaded section stainless, or is it aluminum.
If I install one, what should I put on the threads to seal it?

I added a SAF-AIR P5000 to mine about 2 months ago. I believe the threads are aluminum, but don't quote me on that. It felt like aluminum while torqueing it, for what it's worth :)

I can say that it appears to be of very high quality. I used Loctite 567 (https://www.amazon.com/Loctite-234451-Sealant-degrees-Temperature/dp/B005P3KAUW) on the threads and safety'd it.

This has been on my engine since the beginning...works great! Nearly 900 hours now, no issues.

Saf Air

I will say Saf Air product support is amazing. This thread reminded me of a problem I was having with mine, it stopped staying open. I emailed them explained the problem and told them it is about 3 yrs old. I got an immediate response asking for my address so they could send me a new one at no cost. Great company that stands behind their products.
