Hello engine guys!!

Bought myself a core O-320 engine that came equipped with a rear facing cartridge mount (100) replaceable oil filter setup. After removing the can and backplate, it looks like a spin on filter (with a nipple) will thread right on to the existing adapter. Is that the way it works, or will I need to procure another adapter??

Either the cartridge setup or the spin on setup will normally work, if the engine is a Lycoming and has two mags. If you have a dual mag on a Lycoming engine, then you need to add some parts to convert from the cartridge filter setup to the spin on setup. See Lycoming publication SSP-885-2, if you can find a copy. It explains all about it in detail.
