I am attempting to finish the baffling on my O340 engine install and I am trying to decide what oil cooler and how to install it. As you know there isn't alot of room and it looks like mounting behind the cylinder is the most likely option. I have an old 2002A cooler that I am using as a "test" fit and was wondering if anybody has any input on the type/brand/ mounting options before I cut the hole. Everything has gone well up to this point and now I am stuck.

thanks

Check out the recent thread in the RV7 section on Firewall Mounted Oil Coolers.
Several links to photos of various installs and lots of ideas!

My advice would be to check out Steve Sampson's build log. There you will find a couple of photos of his oil cooler installation. Search G-Ikon and you will find one of his posts. The link to his build log is with his signature. If you haven't visited there, you will find a wealth of info for RV4 builders. It helped me immensely. I have a nine row cooler and I mounted mine on the engined mount with butterfly on the back of the baffle. Very tight but works.
