It seems most flyers are using the PC 680 or 625 for up to O-360 engines. Is there any advantage to the 925 other than weight if needed for W&B?

My 680 does fine for my 0-360. I'd save the weight unless you needed it to offset a light prop.

I plan to go with the 925 in my -8, particulary for the fact that its not that much bigger/heavier but will provide nearly twice the standby power if the alt dies.

My VFR RV-4 started out with an Odyssey ES12V-500, now it has a PC545, and they crank an O-360 OK. I've just put a 545 in another project with a TMX-390, and it spins it over well. In both cases the cables are short and I run both an earth and power lead to the starter.
