Hi gang, I purchased my O-320 engine disassembled and I'm been slowly rebuilding it. The case is assembled and I'm getting ready to install the cylinders.

In preparation I've been cleaning up the Hydraulic Tappet assemblies and the Push Rod Sockets.

Looking at the push rod sockets I have one that is not the same as the other 7. Looking into the end where the tappet assemblies slide into, there is two holes where the other seven just have one.

There is one hole that is off to the side just like the other seven have, but this one socket has a hole drilled dead centre and it continues right through to the end where the push rod goes into.

Can someone educate me on this? Does this one have a special location to be mounted, or is it just an oddball? Should I use it?

Thanks, Terry.
