Thanks to all who have helped with all my questions so far.

I am looking for step by step instructions for removing and cleaning the oil strainer in my O-320 which I understand is a wire basket type device.

Later I will be looking for guidance on installing a spin on filter.

Order an900-16 gasket.
Cut safety wire.
Remove cap with screen.
Clean screen.
Clean cap.
Install new washer.
Install cap and screen.
Tighten the plug until the plug body contacts the gasket.
Turn an additional approx.135 degrees.
Install safety wire (0.032 in.) on the plug.

There are 2 screens

There is a coarse screen at the bottom of the engine. Need the copper washer there.
The one where the oil filter goes is the fine one.
On my O320-D2J you have to remove the four 1/4 20 bolts to clean this one.
You will need a new paper gasket to do this. Aircraft Spruce has them.
