Looks like Van's provides a Matco NW501.25 nosewheel with the -8A finishing kit. I like the static load rating of 1420# but the tire Matco specs for this wheel is a 11.400x5 'Lamb' type tire. I see Shin makes a 6 ply with tube for $20 with a load rating of just over 600 lbs.
The Matco NW511.25 wheel works with the more common 5.00X5 tire size but uses the same taper/roller bearings. I assume that Van's doesn't use this wheel because the bigger 5.00X5 tire would interfer with the rest of the nosewheel assembly and pants.
Have any of you -8A drivers put a 5.00X5 tire on your NW501.25 nosewheel? Or switched to the NW511.25 wheel using a 5.00X5 tire? Thoughts?
