I recently had my front tire off the plane to mount the brackets for the
wheelpants. While I had it off I decided to repack the bearings. After I
remounted the tire I noticed that it had substantial rolling resistance. I hadn't
noticed that before, but I can't exactly remember what it felt like in the
beginning either.
I can easily pull the plane with the towbar, that seems to be the same.
The through bolt and nut are not over tightened, that I tested. I don't
see any spec for the torque of that nut though. I used the German method.
What have others experienced with the rolling resistance? Is this normal?
Do yours roll easily without much force or does it take a heavy hand to turn
the tire?
