Still having a lot of "nod" fore and aft (not side to side shimmy).
Did the aero-splat change to ball bearings in the nose wheel--no joy.

ANY help appreciated.

You cannot eliminate all fore and aft movement of the nose gear leg. Keep in mind that spring gear is acting as a shock absorber. It MUST have some movement in order to do its job. The Anti-Splat nose gear bracket is not designed to remove that movement. It is designed to redistribute the load when large deflection forces occur.
 
You absolutely can add a wood stiffener to the nosegear. I am now modifying the same unit I make for the mains to make it an easy installation under the standard fairing. Try to find RV6AIRPLANEPILOT on Youtube for a before and after video of a wood stiffener. I added one to our plane and it made all the difference in the world.
