Airplanes are many things to many people but in our house they are strictly for travel. At this time each year I look forward to the trips in the new year with great anticipation and the day dreaming and planning are half the fun. We layed out our tentative 2007 travel plan at breakfast:

Jan - Cooling Drag Mod
Feb - Annual Condition Inspection
Mar - Hot Springs, AR
Apr - Charleston, SC
May - Wine tour, CA
Jun - Newport, Rhode Island
Jul - Oshkosh, AirVenture Cup Race
Aug - Jeanines Choice
Sep - Maine
Oct - J. Island, GA
Nov - Kansas City, MO
Dec - St. Louis, MO

Where are you going?

When you come to the other side of the continent, stop by ATL so you can meet all the RV folks around here. I'm at LZU on the northeast side with a bunch of other RV's. Also lots at FFC on the southwest side.

Where do I want to take my newly minted flying machine? Probably the obligatory runs to see family (Ohio, Florida, etc) and maybe venture out to Arizona to see my build partner who moved away. I owe him a ride (actually lots of them).

Have fun and fly safe.
Scott

I have driven to SunN'Fun every year since 1999. 2007 will be the year I fly there in my RV9.
Other plans include flying to Frederick, MD to see my dad. Also local Georgia and Florida EAA chapter breakfasts and BBQs.

Trips planned so far...not including a LOT of west coast flying:

Jan - Laughlin, NV (New Year's Day RV Fly-out)
Feb - Guadalajara, Mexico
May - Oshkosh, WI
July - Oshkosh, WI
August - Oshkosh, WI
October - Lakeland, FL; LOE7, NM

Yeah, paint is gonna have to wait.

Finish up lower 48 states

This coming June I plan a swing through the north east to visit the states of Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Delaware,
Maryland and Pennsylvania. This will complete "gold eagle's" (my RV-6) travels to all of the lower 48 states. O! yeah I have to go to Sun-N-Fun and LOE7 too.

What an interesting idea

I've been to the lower 48 but not in the RV. That is a very interesting idea. I believe that I read some time ago that Paul Rosales and his wife visited them all in their RV-6A. I think you will be part of a very small group. I sort of like to keep track of things and have a goal to be pursuing so this will become a long term goal for me as well. To qualify I will require a landing in a state for it to be counted. Let's see, California, Arizona, New Mexico... I probably have flown our RV-6A into less than 20 states (I can only count 15 off the top of my head). Like I said, very interesting. I can see an Excel file in my mind's eye already. Thanks.

Make it 49 in Rosie's case!

Jan - Laughlin, NV (New Year's Day RV Fly-out)

Dan,

Can you post the details of the fly-out? I live in Vegas and would like to bring my RV-4 in.

Martin,

To be honest, I don't know the details yet. Safe bet would be...show up on the ramp around 10am and you're likely to see a bunch of RV drivers. In the past we shuttled over to one of the hotels for brunch (and gambling for those who have a problem like I do).

You might consider joining the AZ_RVlist or SoCal-RVlist Yahoo group and posting there...it's really an AZ group trip which several of us SoCalians bum along on.

If you don't hear anything between now and the end of week, and if I forget to post here, drop me a line and I should have the scoop by then.
