I have not updated my Horizons yet, but the release notes sound like they did some really nice stuff with the maps.

They did do some nice things. See Paul's thread concerning them. http://www.vansairforce.com/community/showthread.php?t=61732 There, I added some of the things that were improved on a couple ILS approach using a Garmin 430W.
I don't use the map page so I don't know about those major changes.
