I?ve been hard at work to develop a complete revamp of Skybolt?s Vans RV Cowling Kits. With considerable input from builders plus review of hundreds of forum posts, Skybolt is prepared to launch a new version of our kits that will include receptacle mount flanges that are pre-scalloped; with receptacle mounting holes all prefabricated. The result is a very professional, factory appearance that is very easy to install. The flanges interface to each other so that they can be spaced from 3.0 inches to 3.5 inches. Kits delivered after April 1, 2011 will include this new flange system. Skybolt has also made refinements to our receptacles to address minor issues that occasionally arise with modern composite cowlings. We have also re-introduced Skybeam that is a very lightweight structure material option to eliminate bulging. Unlike fiberglass strips that add more weight than structure, Skybeam is an option that can be installed before or after initial cowling installation.
