I'm New Here
Hi everyone! I just wanted to leave some information about a new airpark that is being constructed in Brunswick County NC. There are going to be 12
.8 Acre home sites, 36 T-Hangers and 36 additional 36 x 44' hangers for sale. The developer is putting in a 3200 x 60 ft paved runway and is intending to have gas, repair and restaurant on the commercial end of the runway.
If anyone is interested in more details or purchasing a hanger or home site please let me know.
Thanks,
Debi

I sent an email, and got a nice reply from Intercoastal Realty Corp. No info yer on the company web site, but here is what was in the email:

"Thank you so much for contacting me and expressing your interest in the airpark project in Brunswick County.

"We are proposing to build a GA airport designed by GA pilots for GA pilots. The runway will be paved 60' x 3200' with 09/27 headings and we expect FAA approval this week. The location of the project is Sandy Creek, NC or more specifically 3199 Maco Road, a 12 - 15 minute ride from the Memorial bridge west on 74/76.
"We are proposing to build 36 - 36' x 44' large hangers each with a hydroswing door measuring 11' high by 42' wide with concrete floor, florescent lighting electrical receptacles and water. We will also have 36 -"T" hangers measuring 42' wide by 32' deep with a 10' high by 40' wide door, also with electric, concrete floor and water. Last, but not least we will offer 12 residential building lots of approximately .8 acres in size. The buyers of these properties will be able to construct a hanger on their lot with a maximum size of 48' x 48' and a residential single family home with a minimum size of 2,100 square feet.
"There will also be a repair facility on site, fuel on site (100LL and MoGas),a shade hanger for pilots to wash and wax their aircraft, a pilots lounge with weather room and a small restaurant/grill. These facilities will be the final phase of the development. The preliminary site plan shows the proposed layout of the airport, note the over 100 convenient vehicle parking spaces near the hangers and facilities.
"We are working on a feasible plan to provide discounted fuel to hanger and property owners, which is something we could all use. Possibly even having the restaurant, fuel and repair facilities owned by the Association to provide these services to the Members at a rate we can afford. We are open to suggestions as to how this could be accomplished. Regulations and high costs have diminished the pleasure and freedoms we as pilots enjoy so lets get together to build an airport we can all enjoy and feel a part of!

"If you would like to check this property from your airplane the coordinates are N 34-15.953 and W 78 08.699.

There was some additional info, but I believe we should be communicating with these folks directly and not taking up file space on the VAF forum. Google maps did not show any airpark / runway development in this area, but I did not think to check the date of the SAT photos...

snip...and we expect FAA approval this week...snip

Noelf,
They said they were expecting FAA approval, so even brand new sat pictures won't show anything. Can't break ground for a runway (or airport) without the FAA's okay.

Best,

Right you are Moose.

Here is some additional info that I just received from from the realtor

"I apologize that the maps did not come through last time. The airpark project is just in the beginning/permitting phases. We expect to have the runway and some hangers completed by August of next year.
The lots will accommodate homes no smaller than 2100 sq ft and hangers no larger than 48? x 48?.
