I stupidly started my plane with the avionics switch on. Can anyone recommend a repair shop. I'm near Fort Worth, TX.

I can tell you not to go to the big one @ Meacham ( Field Tech). Bad service and rip off prices. $150 to look at it. Fix it or not.

Don't let them send it back to King...

I had one with a couple of bad digits in the display and it came back with a $800+ repair bill.

There are two Stark Avionics. One is in Olney Texas (KONY) which is just NW of Graham. I had my King repaired there. Dr. Stark was very knowledgeable and the prices were not through the roof. You might give him a try. It might be a little further to drive than the metroplex, but he treated me right.

Another shop is Poor Boy Avionics in San Angelo (KSJT). Tom Dufrense is very good and does good work at a fair price. His shop is in Skyline Aviation. He is usually not there until after 4:00 because he does all the avionics on the Customs planes which is based on the airport.

I think either one would be fine.
