Dear All,

I thought these photos might be of interest and possibly have connections over the pond. Having brought back my RV-4 to flying condition and needing a base and hanger, I found one at this ex WW2 airbase. The runway is a little aged now with a few bumps in the asphalt but the 1200m length (shortened since WW2 obviously) gives me ample opportunity to perfect my landing technique. In any case, I hope the sentiment about accuracy expressed in the second photo rubs off on my flying!

Who else has some historical connections where they fly from?

Enjoy!

Pretty cool. You'll have to perfect your overheard pattern. Any chance your plane is painted in WW2 colors?

Paint Scheme

No, it's not painted in warbird colours, I'm not a fan of doing that, sometimes it looks a bit tacky on a small aircraft

Airfield

I fly from Tibenham, and at present my RV 3 is kept there.

In the mid 1980's I was the full time summer tug pilot and we used to get about 1 veteran a week visiting from USA and I would always take them up for a quick trip around the area.
