I have a D-10A which has a panel mounted serial port for both communication with my 296 and (with the 296 unplugged) for updates from my laptop. I'm now adding an HS34 to the mix and it too calls for a serial port connection for updates. Can I wire the serial wires from the new HS34 to the existing port in the panel (sharing communication with the D-10), or do I need a discrete plug (or switch)?
