Because a -4 is for a 1/8 cable and a -5 is for a 5/32 cable.

I knew that the -5 and -4 forks are for different cable sizes.

My question was more like this:

I want to connect something that has a 1/4" hole in it to something that has 5/16" hole in it with a load bearing cable.
Opening up the 1/4" hole is not the answer (edge distance).
So can this be done?
Structurally, I only need the 1/4" bolt and 5/32 cable.

Can you put a bushing in the larger (5/16) hole??

Then just use the -4 fitting and bolt.
