I have taken the "plunge" as Van calls it and am installing a Continental engine in my 3B. I have a conical motor mount and would like to put one inch spacers between the mount and engine to move the CG forward. Does anybody see issues with that?

Spacer

Yu might want to consider the spacer on the firewall. I moved my engine forward 3/8" and did it that way.

spacers to shift engine forward

Yes, it is structurally better to put spacers between the engine mount and the firewall.
That way, all the loads in the engine mount stay the same.
