I bought an Apad device, flashed the ROM with Tim's 4e ROM, installed Avilution and Naviator and Navzilla, and tried using them in the cockpit of my RV-4. It was just ridiculous trying to read the color display. My white shirt, and the lack of any overhead glare shielding left my unit looking really washed out. My old Garmin III Pilot GPS was clear as usual. So I started thinking is there a monochome reader like the Kindle or Ebook that can run these apps and interface to a GPS of some kind? I understand why readers are monochrome, if you want to read a book outdoors they look clear.
