Just by reading the forum for a while,,,I know there are a few fliers besides myself that burn a little premium grade auto fuel in their Lycoming powered planes. Some use it exclusively and others like myself mix a little in every so often. I usually add 5 gallons auto fuel to 20 gallons of 100LL and get much better starting and cleaner plugs. Our auto fuel in Michigan has up to 10% ethanol added and I worry about the effects it may have on the fuel system seals and gaskets. I found this additive at a marine supply store and is widely used in the gasoline powered boats and claims to help in a lot of the problem areas that ethanol laced fuel is famous for including raising the temperature boiling point of the fuel and saving the seals. Anyone use this stuff? I am tempted to give it a try. http://mystarbrite.com/startron/
