The plans call out for an AN832 bulkhead fitting with a 45 degree angle hacked in it and bolted to the bottom of the fuselage. Not pretty. I know it is on the bottom side, you never see it and it is perfectly functional. I have a lathe and a mill in my garage and it took me no time at all to take some meat off it and make it better looking. I also didn't like the fact that a big hex nut was in the airstream.
I used the 90 degree angle AN833 bulkhead fitting because there would be less material to be removed. The straight AN832 could be used with the same result. First I hacked the 45 degree angle in my bandsaw and filed it smooth. Then I chucked it up and and made it round. Next I milled two flats on the side so I could fit a 1/2 inch wrench on the fitting. A better looking fuel vent. In RV building time, it took no time at all.
If you are equipped or know somebody who is here are some pictures. IF not shoot me a mail I can probably help.
