I have uploaded another update for the G2, both binary as well as simulator (get it at www.MGLAvionics.co.za - Odyssey G2 update page).

This update includes two major additions/changes:

a) Obstacle database.
The G2 now has support for the FAA/NACO obstacle database (all 140.000 of them). Obstacles are shown in true height and perspective on the 3D synthetic vision.
Related to this: The Enigma Flight Planner application is undergoing a major rework and now includes the editor and import facility for the obstacle database (and suitable export to a "navidata" file).

b) Vector map terrain background.
The rendering of the vector map terrain background (based on terrain elevation data) has been redone from scratch. The rendering now features stepped color gradients, edge enhancement as well as relief shading.

Some other minor changes/additions (details on the update page).

Please be on the lookout on our website for the first release of a free, premade MGL navidata file for the G2 based on current releases of FAA/NACO ARINC424 data (waypoints, navaids, airport data including runways, airspaces), augmented by information from other sources and NACO obstacles.
We expect this to become available within the next few days.
Note that this is a maintained database, available for G1 and G2 users that is available for free, no subscription or other payments required.
I will post a further anouncement when this is available for download.
